Despite the fact that Ústí nad Labem is the largest industrial town of North Bohemia, there are many natural points of interest in its surroundings. The area attractive for tourists is the CHKO (Protected Landscape Area) České středohoří the panorama of which is formed by characteristic conical hills of volcano origin. The dominant of the town is the late Gothic deanery church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The church tower deflected, during the bombing of the town towards the end of the Second World War, from its axis and at present it is with the deviation over 200 cm the skewest tower in the Czech Republic. Interesting from the other monuments is, first of all, the pseudo-Baroque building of the municipal theatre of the beginning of the 20th century. Permanent expositions of the museum of Ústí document archaeological research in the region, the battle at Chlumec in 1813 and art crafts. Intended especially for the children is the exposition of the ghosts of Ústí with an entertaining test and ghostly game. The modern dominant of the town is the Mariánský bridge over the Labe river, a highly valued architectonic work among experts. The visitors to Ústí nad Labem are also attracted by the not far castle Střekov and the zoological garden that spreads on the steep slopes of the valley of the Labe river.
